Empowerement Group for Kids with OCD
and OCD Traits
For children 8-12 years old who experience fear, distress, and avoidance, or who are having to do habits or actions to make their worry thoughts go away. We will focus on building courage, confidence, and effective strategies to reclaim their life and restore balance in the family.

This peer support and psychoeducation group is specifically tailored
for youth with OCD or OCD tendencies. This group will provide a supportive environment
where participants can learn coping strategies, receive encouragement from peers facing
similar challenges, and gain valuable insights through psychoeducation sessions.
If you’ve noticed your child is…
- Frequently Anxious, Distressed or Frustrated, especially when they can’t perform certain behaviours, actions or rituals
- Unable to cope with seemingly simple situations, or they refuse to even try
- They have an extreme need for things to be perfect or symmetrical, or just right
- Frequently asking for reassurance from you, their teachers, or peers due to persistent doubt and fear

- Understand what OCD is and how it may be impacting their lives
- Lean on peers and staff for a safe and supportive space to share experiences and challenges related to OCD
- Develop the tools and strategies to manage OCD symptoms effectively in their daily lives
- Develop a sense of community and belonging, reducing feelings of isolation
- Become empowered to set and work towards personal goals related to their mental health and well-being.
Facilitated by Jaclyn Cronin, MSW RSW
Jaclyn is a CTSA-Certified Clinician in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD. She has a rich background working with children and youth in various sectors, and is passionate about equipping kids with the skills and confidence to tackle Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. She is also a a professional member of the International OCD Foundation.
Jaclyn has put together this group out of a growing need for skilled and effective treatment for children and adolescents (and their families!) that struggle with the challenges of living with OCD.
This 6-week group program is designed to equip children with education, support, confidence, and concrete strategies, so that they and their families can live more fulfilling lives.
