Child Counselling Hamilton

Alex Brown

MACP (Candidate), RP (qualifying)

Alex supports children, teens, and adults in navigating life challenges by collaboratively building a deeper understanding of their thoughts, feelings, behaviours, and relational attachments. Alex practices with a trauma-informed perspective and recognizes that understanding our past can help make sense of our present and can help us adjust our patterns for a more successful future. Her philosophy is rooted in the humanistic principles that every individual is the expert on their own life, and that therapeutic intervention can help individuals meet the goals that they co-create in therapy.

Alex is currently completing her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. She achieved her undergraduate degree from McMaster University with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Human Behaviour. Alex has worked for the last 11 years in a recreational sporting context, which has taught her the importance of recognizing resiliency in others and pursuing inclusivity in all spaces.

Outside of office hours, Alex enjoys spending time tending to her vegetable garden, practicing creativity with painting and writing, and moving her body by figure skating
